Transparency

Overview

The words "Disclose, divest, we will not stop we will not rest" rang throughout our halls this time last year. Applicable to protests as well as everything else happening on campus, Lion's Roar believes that transparency between every relevant party is necessary in order to create a thriving campus environment. As a party, we're committed to being a liaison between us students and every other major institution on campus.

1. A Framework for Our Role on Campus

We do not believe that it is the job of a student government to take sides, but rather to act as a bridge between long-divided sides which opens up a possibility for clear, productive communication. Above all else, we are a vessel that represents students' voices and desires from every side to the fullest extent possible. Lion's Roar remains in favor of peaceful protests that do not obstruct students' right to study and learn.

2. The Lion's Roar Series

Following elections, we intend to launch Lion's Roar as a monthly series on Instagram where students are encouraged to submit anonymous questions (on the protest or not) which CCSC will ask Columbia administrators in a moderated, Q&A format episode. This will provide every student with a clear, direct, and (most of all) easy way to ask questions directly to university administrators, cutting through the roadblocks, CAPTCHA portals, and other BS of trying to reach administrators through traditional means.
